Doug Wever serves as the Global Teen Challenge (GTC) Regional Director for Africa, assisting Teen Challenge centers in 11 countries across the continent.

As Regional Director, Doug is responsible for the ongoing ministry direction of GTC Africa.  This involves the existing 1,300 beds on the continent in twenty-seven Teen Challenge ministries as well as his vision to open an additional 2,100 discipleship beds by 2020 in 170 new centers in 28 African nations.  Doug is leading Teen Challenge into the Northern predominately Muslim areas of Africa.  Doug also serves on the GTC Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Doug first served addicted youth in 1982 then became a Teen Challenge Executive Director in 1987.  After serving Teen Challenge at the state level in Missouri, Doug served the national headquarters of Teen Challenge USA by heading the accreditation department for five years.   While at TCUSA, Doug wrote, The Teen Challenge Therapeutic Model, which became the official statement and model of the ministry and has been subsequently translated into multiple languages.  Doug has also held state-level Teen Challenge leadership positions in Florida and Alabama.  Doug has planted new Teen Challenge ministries on three occasions.

In 2001 Doug began traveling frequently to Africa, eventually becoming the Executive Vice President of the Africa Bible Institute supervising the training of over three thousand African pastors in seven countries as well as over five hundred pastors in the United States. Doug has nine years of ministry as a senior pastor and two as a national church consultant.
